JellyStar is a cute hand drawn 2D platformer designed for all ages. Playing the game feels like you are controlling a cartoon in which you are the director.
Set on the island of Screaming Tortoise, JellyStar allows you to choose from one of 12 cute characters each based on a different vegetable. Travel the beautiful autumnal lands of Quartz moving north to the lush green plains of Onyx and then to the extreme northern icy lands of Opal. To the west lies Ruby, a baking hot desert like island filled with pyramids and temples.
With over 50 levels JellyStar is an epic adventure with multiple types of action such as: platforming, plane flying, caving, mine carting and even betting, trading and management. Collect moon potions which allow your character to grow in size and speed, until they almost won’t fit on the screen! Expect huge chunky beautiful hand drawn enemies and worlds backed by amazing classical music in chip tune style. This is one cartoon adventure the whole family can enjoy together.
With 2 player local coop you and a friend can sit back and enjoy a night of wonder as you feast your eyes and ears on hand crafted levels set over many different biomes. By collecting gems, coins and golden statues you can become a trader in one of the 4 big cities, sell high, buy low to amass your fortune and even purchase the restaurant of your dreams. Hire a team and manage the profit by tweaking the menu and layout of your establishment.
With a distinct 80s platformer feel reminiscent of the Mario games, this is one cartoon extravaganza not to be missed. Thousands of hours have been painstakingly spent hand drawing genuinely adorable 2D art as well as developing interesting game mechanics, power-ups and oodles of secrets. Replay each level to improve your score and time, even competing against your own ghost character.
JellyStar always feels alive with its cast of over 50 characters and enemies who each have their own home town and can travel freely between any level they please. Collect the 50 chunks of the JellyStar to rebuild it and bring peace and happiness back to the land.
Beware of the crazy chef “Singing Hinny” who is hell bent on capturing you to make you an ingredient of his perpetual stew! Other enemies include fellow JellyStar hunters who will try to take your archeological finds from you, these include the legendary clown “Grimaldi”, beautiful alien princess “Jane” and even the venerable Bede, a priest with a lust for power.
Your special abilities include becoming a huge bullet which can tear through levels in no time.
